Standardized testing referred to as “Norman Door” in education. Norman Door involved a practice or technology so poorly designed that it undermined its purpose. The paper included a description of the problem with a proposed solution.
The assignment was to create blended learning environments in K-12 Education: The paper focused on the work of Senge (2006) & Horn & Staker (2014), with references to Technological, Pedagogical, Content, & Knowledge (TPACK) and Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition (SAMR).
Horn & Staker (2014) explained blended learning. A disruptive way to improve education included a hybrid of classroom and online learning that had some convenience aspects of online courses without the complete loss of face-to-face interaction.
Mishra & Koehler's (2006) TPACK framework and Puentedura's (2013) SAMR framework incorporated the technology component into instructions to ensure a successful rollout, from concept to implementation to evaluation.
Senge (2006) stated that long-run success relied on a competitive advantage where the organization's ability to learn faster than the competition. Senge described organizations can rid themselves of the learning "disabilities" that threaten their productivity and success by adopting the strategies of the learning organization and the emergent new patterns of thinking to create the desired learning result.
The paper was of a fictional story that highlighted the life of a child in the future, focused on three technologies described by Greenfield (2017). The three technologies were augmented reality, the Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence.
